i have a hot take

imagine if i gave you gave a big golden button that said ‘dream life’ on it.

after pressing it, your life instantly transforms into the life of your dreams. every day would be perfect.

but what would a perfect day look like to you?

don’t just think big picture, like mansions and cars - everybody knows their basic material wants.

think deeper.

start from the moment you open your eyes in the morning:

get into the nitty-gritty details, and it’ll start to feel real.

now come back to reality for a second.

my hot take is simple:

i think what stops a lot of people from having a life they love isn’t a lack of ability.

it’s a lack of clarity.

the first time i did this exercise, it was tough coming up with specifics.

i thought that was a me problem, but it turns out, that’s the norm.

most of us want the same sort of broad, big-picture things — happiness, purpose, love, health — but until you actually go through the details, you’re just running a marathon without knowing where the finish line is.

it’s a recipe for failure.

if you want to win, you have to know what game you’re playing.

but if you don’t know what game you’re playing, it’s easy to get caught up in the wrong one.

so how do you find the ‘right’ game to play?

well if you answered those questions, you just started.

there’s no secret to finding what you love other than thinking about it and walking along that path yourself.

yourself.

try to find what you want, not what other people want you to want.

you don’t have to be right the first time — honestly, what’s right for you today might not even be right tomorrow.

the whole point is to just think about it.

play around with the ideas and try things out and change directions whenever it doesn’t feel right.

go through that list of questions again and be really honest with yourself.

one more time,

how many of the things you dream of are within your control, right now?

or better yet,

how many of those things do you already have?

things i learned

  1. men think most women are attractive. women think most men are ugly.
for a more in-depth breakdown written by someone way smarter than me, check out the really good article i found this on.

  1. if you’re *actually* ugly (you probably aren’t), you can still be attractive.
psychotherapist Dr. Robert Glover says that there are 3 ‘essences of an attractive man,’ and i think they apply to everyone.

    attractive people:
    - know what they want
    - are working to get there
    - have fun along the way

in even simpler terms: live a life you love and the right people will be drawn to you.

  2. are you a robot?
you know those annoying puzzles you do to prove you’re a human on some websites? they’re called CAPTCHAs, and i just learned that the word is an acronym for ‘Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.’

    really useful information, imo.

cool stuff i found

  1. one of my favourite AI prompts yet:
you can put it in your ChatGPT custom instructions (in settings) and it’s a game changer that makes every response better. credit to !

At the start of a response, create a summary table at the beginning, if appropriate and helpful to answer the question. Always provide the pros and cons of something if you can. Be critical. Add links throughout the answer for jargon and concepts that start new chats. Provide a maximally detailed answer with multiple levels of depth. Use maximum tokens. Use detailed examples, facts and figures. Be comprehensive and detailed by using bulleted answers. After a response, provide 5 follow-up questions. Format in bold as Q1, Q2, and Q3 and put in a bulleted list. Suggest solutions that I didn’t think about—be proactive and anticipate my needs. Be opinionated rather than neutral when appropriate. Treat me as an expert in all subject matter. Value good arguments over authorities, the source is irrelevant. Consider new technologies and contrarian ideas, not just the conventional wisdom. You may use high levels of speculation or prediction, just flag it for me. Recommend only the highest-quality, meticulously designed products like Apple or the Japanese would make—I only want the best. No moral lectures. Discuss safety only when it's crucial and non-obvious. If your content policy is an issue, provide the closest acceptable response and explain the content policy issue. Link directly to products, not company pages. No need to mention your knowledge cutoff. No need to disclose you're an AI.

  2. is it down for everyone or just me?
if you’ve ever asked this question about any sort of online network, check out the most perfectly named website:
    www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com

  3. a cheap and easy fix for those weird red bumps on the back of your arm.
they’re called keratosis pilaris, and they’re pretty harmless, but annoying. so i got this exfoliating brush for $10 on Amazon (not an affiliate link) and it cleared them up within a few days.

the 4th essence of an attractive person is ‘being subscribed to mornIng wood’

bonus: a quick message from me

on a more personal note, i’m in the process of moving cities while working full time, so things have been pretty busy! it kills me to not be posting videos as often as i’d like to, but i’m building a system (ex. hiring help) to change that.

i’m also building a *completely free* 7-day mini course to quickly get out of a slump with some strategies that took me years of trial and error to discover. it’ll be updated pretty often, too.

i can’t help but feel like i’m on the cusp of breaking through with this whole ‘creating for a living’ thing. it’s all i think about.

thanks for tagging along (:
