now that i have an online presence, people ask me for advice a lot.

i find this flattering, but also kinda crazy, because i only know about the stuff i write about — & sometimes not even that.

the truth is, even if i knew everything there is to know about the world (i don’t), when it comes to the subject of your life, there’s only 1 expert who has enough context to justify taking advice from:

you.

luckily, you can give yourself advice by asking the right questions.

here are 36 of them that i use all the time:

note: most of these aren’t original. i just didn’t keep the sources because this list started as a private note to self. oops.

some things i learned

  1. a core belief of mine, described beautifully

  2. how to set & keep habits
    ‘neuroplasticity rewards repetition, not intention.

your brain doesn’t care that you wanted to exercise.

it only knows that you did exercise, 50 days in a row.

stop trying to want the outcome more.
start trying to repeat the behaviour more.’

  3. the easiest way to spot poor critical thinking skills
‘if your opinions on one subject can be predicted from your opinions on another, you may be in the grip of an ideology. when you truly think for yourself, your conclusions will not be predictable.’

cool stuff i found

  1. one of my favourite visuals ever

    Image
  2. a bag i’m loving from Uniqlo
